Working out a tip and then dividing the bill on a phone calculator is slow and easy to get wrong, especially at the end of a group dinner. This tip calculator puts every step on one screen and recalculates as soon as you change the bill, the tip percentage or the number of people.
Choose 10%, 15% or 20%, or type any custom percentage, so it works with tipping norms anywhere. To split the bill, the tool adds the tip to the total and divides it evenly between everyone, showing results to two decimal places. Because it is plain arithmetic, it works with any currency.
For example, a bill of 1,200 with a 10% tip split between four people works out to a tip of 120, a total of 1,320, and 330 per person. Change any number and the three results update on the spot, which makes it easy to compare a few tip percentages before you decide.
Everything runs in your browser: no sign-in, no coins, and your bill amount is never sent anywhere. It is built for even splits; if people ordered very different amounts, you would need to work out itemized shares separately.
